November 1, 2011
This year Peak is participating in Larimer Humane Society’s calendar fundraiser, “12 of 12,000: A Celebration of Second Chances.”
Each year approximately 12,000 animals enter the doors at Larimer Humane Society in Fort Collins. “12 of 12,000” is a two-part project spotlighting twelve of those 12,000 animals through photography. Local photographer Heidi Muller donated her talent by capturing each of those 12 animals’ heartwarming stories through the lens of her camera. These beautiful black and white photographs are showcased in a 2012 calendar on sale through LHS. The calendar and the photographs are meant to educate our community about LHS’s services, create awareness about issues of animal welfare, as well as raise funds so that LHS can continue their contributions to Larimer County and Northern Colorado pets.
The photographs of the 12 “ambassador animals” are also mounted and will be rotating through each sponsor’s location throughout the year. We feel honored to be one of this year’s sponsors, and are proudly displaying these animals’ uplifting stories in our lobby. Another way that Peak partners with the Larimer Humane Society is by donating a percentage of all our credit card transactions.
In September 2011, Dr. Ellen Miller and nurse Vicki Kahler represented Peak at LHS’s sponsor appreciation dinner. They enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, mingled with other local business people, and heard moving speeches from the LHS director and Vice Chairperson.
Help us help the countless animals in our community who need forever homes by supporting LHS and purchasing this year’s 12 of 12,000 calendar!
